Senegalese Goalkeeper Cheikh Touré Found Dead In Ghana After Being Kidnapped By Fake Scouts

Tragedy in Senegalese Football: Promising Young Goalkeeper Cheikh Touré Killed in Ghana Scam

The Senegalese football community is mourning the tragic loss of 18-year-old goalkeeper Cheikh Touré, who was reportedly killed in Ghana after falling victim to a fraudulent football recruitment scheme.

According to a statement from the Senegalese Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Touré was lured by individuals posing as professional football scouts. These scammers promised him trials with a professional club in Ghana — a promise that tragically turned out to be a deadly deception.

Upon his arrival in Ghana, Touré was kidnapped, and a ransom was demanded from his family. Sadly, when the family was unable to meet the demands, the captors took his life.

“The young footballer was deceived by fraudsters posing as football scouts,” the ministry stated, as reported by sources from the web. “They kidnapped him and demanded a ransom from his family. Tragically, when the family couldn’t meet the demands, the kidnappers ended his life.”

The Ministry has called for increased caution among football clubs, academies, coaches, and parents, urging them to thoroughly verify any international trial or transfer offers.

Authorities in Ghana and Senegal are reportedly working together to investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

This heartbreaking incident casts a harsh light on the growing issue of football trafficking and exploitation of young African talent through fake scouting and recruitment schemes. Touré’s death has sparked grief, anger, and calls for stronger protections for aspiring athletes across the continent.
