NSMQ 2025: St. Thomas Aquinas Dominates Sacred Hearts, Ngleshie Amanfro Secures Round of 16 Spot

The 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is gaining momentum, and St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School delivered an outstanding performance on Day 2 of the competition.

The atmosphere at the CNC Auditorium was electric as St. Thomas Aquinas faced off against Sacred Hearts Senior High School and Ngleshie Amanfro Senior High School in a riveting academic contest that captivated the audience until the very end.

From the outset, St. Thomas Aquinas demonstrated clear determination. They surged ahead in Round One, accumulating 27 points, while Sacred Hearts and Ngleshie Amanfro lagged with 16 and 11 points, respectively. The team’s confidence, precision, and teamwork reflected their experience on the national stage.

Round Two saw St. Thomas Aquinas extend their lead effortlessly, reaching 40 points as the crowd responded with enthusiastic applause. Their opponents struggled to keep pace, with Sacred Hearts at 27 points and Ngleshie Amanfro holding steady at 11.

Despite this, the competition remained intense and unpredictable.

In Round Four, Sacred Hearts mounted a spirited comeback, narrowing the gap and showing their resilience. However, St. Thomas Aquinas remained composed, asserting their academic strength to close the round with 50 points, followed by Sacred Hearts with 40 and Ngleshie Amanfro with 21.

The final Round Five brought a thrilling conclusion. St. Thomas Aquinas delivered a powerful finish, responding with accuracy and confidence that electrified the auditorium. Their impressive total of 62 points secured them a well-earned place in the one-eighth finals of the 2025 NSMQ.

This performance showcased not only intellectual brilliance but also teamwork and determination—signaling that St. Thomas Aquinas is back, stronger and more competitive than ever.
