Black Stars Get a Boost as Eddie Nketiah Shows Interest ahead of the worldcup

Crystal Palace forward and former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has reignited speculation about his international future by revealing he would consider playing for the Ghana national team—the Black Stars—if officially invited.

Nketiah, 26, rose through the ranks at Arsenal, where he became known for his sharp finishing and movement. Seeking more regular first-team opportunities, he recently transferred to Crystal Palace, where he continues to impress in the Premier League.

Although he has represented England at multiple youth levels and even received a senior team call-up, Nketiah has yet to make a competitive appearance for England’s senior squad, keeping the door open for a potential switch.

“I’m proud of my Ghanaian roots. If the time comes and I get an invitation, I’ll definitely consider it,” Nketiah said in a recent interview, fueling hopes among Ghanaian fans and officials.Looking back at Qatar 2022 World Cup: Hypocrisy vs. sportswashing | Opinion

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has actively pursued players of Ghanaian descent competing abroad, aiming to strengthen the Black Stars ahead of crucial tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers. Nketiah’s technical skill, pace, and goal-scoring instinct would add valuable firepower to Ghana’s attack.

As the next international window approaches, all eyes will be on the GFA’s moves and whether Nketiah will take the opportunity to represent Ghana on the international stage.
