Daddy Lumba’s Children Disassociate from Legal Dispute Over Funeral Arrangements
The children of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have publicly distanced themselves from an ongoing lawsuit regarding the funeral and burial arrangements for their father.
In an official statement signed by Charlyn Fosuh on behalf of herself and her siblings — Calvin and Ciara Fosuh — the children made it clear that they are not parties to the legal proceedings and wish to remain uninvolved in any family disputes surrounding the late musician’s final rites.
“It has come to our attention that there is an ongoing court process regarding the funeral and burial arrangements of our beloved father, the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba,” the statement read.
“We, the children of Akosua Serwaa and Daddy Lumba, wish to clarify that we are not parties to this legal process and that we do not wish to be involved in any disputes or conflicts surrounding the funeral arrangements.”
The children expressed their collective desire to honour their father’s memory in a manner that is respectful, dignified, and reflective of his remarkable life and legacy.
They further emphasized that their focus remains on unity, love, and ensuring that Daddy Lumba receives a farewell befitting his iconic contributions to Ghanaian music and culture.
“We are united in love and respect for our father, and our goal is to celebrate his legacy with peace and dignity,” they stated.
The family also appealed to the public and media to handle commentary on the issue with sensitivity and discretion.
“We kindly ask the general public, especially the media and social media commentators, to be measured and respectful in their commentary regarding the family, any ongoing legal matters, and the funeral arrangements. We believe our father deserves a farewell that reflects the peace, dignity, and unity he valued in life.”
The statement comes amid growing public interest and media coverage around the funeral plans of the late musician, whose passing marked the end of an era in Ghana’s highlife music scene.
